OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARYAssist members by answering inquires from incoming calls, voicemails and emails. Problem-solve troubleshoot and provide support to members while providing a high level of customer service.
WORK PERFORMED Answer incoming calls for a non-profit membership association. Enroll and/or renew members, complete product orders, track member orders, and update member records. Accurately and clearly explain membership and insurance policy benefits Provide data entry support for DAN membership including entry of new and renewal membership information, processing of internet applications and product orders, and problem-solving/troubleshooting data entry processing. Respond to daily incoming mail, fax and email correspondence Act as a liaison between internal departments Act as a liaison between the association, its members and the general public in support of the association's mission and goals. Provide data for internal reports that track department and individual productivity. Represent the association at trade shows, conventions and symposiums as assigned. Serve as back-up for Business Membership as needed Perform other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position requires constant typing/keyboarding (70-100% of time), constant sitting (70-100% of time) and contact use of the telephone or headset (70-100% of time). Occasional lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, bending/squatting and standing/walking is necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Post-secondary degree or vocational certificate in related field. Licensed in the State of North Carolina as an agent for Life, Health, Property, and Casualty insurance. * Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered. Three or more years of providing customer service within a call center environment or other relevant customer service experience. Three or more years of working with confidential information and/or processing check, credit card and cash transactions. Previous insurance agency sales experience preferred. Membership database application—iMIS experience preferred. Scuba diving certification/experience helpful. Professional telephone etiquette and skills. Good business writing skills Fluent Spanish or French Speaking ability a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Able to work within deadlines Strong interpersonal communications skills.
